MAY! Oh how I've missed you! It’s been quite a while, hasn’t it? Feels like only yesterday we were reading through those journals back in Mirabar with those two muckers. How’ve you been? Nothing terribly exciting has happened here in Beliard, although Viktor visited me at the forge the other day and told me something rather concerning about the Bürach Empire. I was skeptical at first. I’d never heard anything about it myself, but Viktor seemed quite serious about the entire thing. Something about an emperor being quite the arsehole, leaving his own people to suffer while he sits comfortably on his throne. At least, that’s according to Viktor. You know how he his. Oh! And did I mention Nobu is coming along as well? It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen that unusual but absolutely stellar garment of his. Bloody hell, I don’t think I could pull something like that off even if I tried! Though... do you think it might look good on me? I ought to visit and try one on someday! As for Viktor, he’s been visiting the forge rather often lately, either to chat or to act foolish around. But his company is comforting. Cozy, even. It gets awfully lonely around here, so I’m really glad to have him around. I’m quite lucky to have him, truly. I couldn’t ask for a better partner during those busy and terribly dull hours. AND NO! I STILL DO NOT THINK ABOUT THAT ONE TIME IN THE TAVERN! Anyway, I’m really happy to see how far you’ve come! The moment I saw those posted notices with your name on them, I just had to send you a quick message and tell you how I’ve been. More importantly, I wanted to tell you that I’m proud of you, May. Truly. For everything you’ve managed to do these past few months. You know, when I was still a little girl, struggling to learn craftsmanship and artillery from my Pops, he taught me something that kept me moving forward: “Always look up for inspiration, and never look down in desperation.” Take as many steps as you need, even if they’re small ones, and never give up when you know you’ve tried your best. And if you ever need anything at all, Viktor, Nobunaga, and I will always have your back. No questions asked, love. Speaking of the Bürach Empire, We need you to come along with us.  It may be a rough journey, but with enough equipment, gadgets, weapons, gizmos and perhaps a questionable amount of explosives packed by yours truly, I reckon we can take on just about anything! So... whaddya say, Miss Quartz?

Been a while, May. Suppose I should say I’m proud of you. So there. Don’t expect me to repeat myself. Eitherway Quincy and I picked up some work out in the Bürach Empire. Nobunaga’s coming too. Heard their Emperor’s some kinda man who sits pretty while his own people suffer for it. Though with everything that happened with Diana— I figured it was time to put the gun away. But that don’t mean the world’s gone and righted its wrongs. Still plenty of bastards wearing crowns and good folk paying the price for ’em. Diana taught me there’s more to living than fighting. She never taught me to look the other way. Quincy’s been around for me too, more than I give her credit for. Think she might have a thing for me. Can’t blame her. She’ll deny it, but I know what I see :p. Reckon there are worse reasons to dust off the old gun. And if this Emperor’s half the bastard folks say he is I ain’t retired just yet. Bring your things, May. Wouldn’t feel right riding out without you.

It's been many moons old friend, it's nice to finally have a chat once more. The empress has not left me much free time so I apologize that I have to keep this letter short. I've heard much about your bounties through whispers from fishermen and merchant caravans. It was spring, the cherry blossoms have just started to bloom when I heard of the fearsome journaling empire you've built for yourself. I remember when you were a just a child hiding behind my robes when the kraken rose to block our path back home and now you're this big name that everyone dreams of working with. I am proud of the person you grew to become and I hope you have found peace with the new friends around you, I take pride in saying that I've fought alongside the mighty May Quartz. Oh yeah- me, Victor, and Quincy plan to take on this commission in the Bürach empire, something about slaying this great beast or some sort. Let's have one more adventure for old times sake.
